This investment marks a pivotal moment for our platform and validates the conviction we have carried since day one — that the future of meaningful human connection lies in shared interests, authentic communities, and AI that genuinely understands who we are.
When we set out to build Mustartlove, we asked a deceptively simple question: why do so many people with so much in common never actually meet? Traditional dating platforms had optimized brilliantly for reach and volume, but something fundamental was missing. The context. The richness. The sense that the person you are meeting has lived a life shaped by the same passions and values as yours.
Why This Round, Why Now
The social dating market is in the middle of a transformation. After years of swipe-based mechanics that reduced human connection to a split-second visual judgment, a growing segment of users is demanding something more. They want to meet people through shared activities. They want conversations that begin with context rather than cold opens. They want technology that helps them find depth, not just quantity.
The timing of this raise reflects a broader market readiness for exactly what Mustartlove is building. In our closed beta, users spent an average of 38 minutes per session engaged in community activities, challenges, and conversations — more than three times the industry average for traditional dating apps. Match satisfaction scores exceeded 94 percent. These numbers tell us that the model works. This capital will let us prove it at scale.

What This Investment Enables
The $2.5 million raised in this Seed Round will be deployed across three primary areas:
Technology acceleration. Our AI compatibility engine is powerful, but we are just beginning to realize its potential. We plan to expand our compatibility model from 200 to over 500 behavioral and lifestyle dimensions, incorporate richer natural language processing to understand conversation dynamics, and invest in the infrastructure needed to serve millions of simultaneous users without degradation in match quality.
Geographic expansion. Mustartlove launched in Minneapolis, Chicago, and Seattle. With this funding, we will expand to twelve new metropolitan markets in 2025, including New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Boston, Denver, and Nashville. Each new market brings with it dedicated community managers who seed local interest groups and organize real-world connection events.
Team growth. We are building out our engineering, product, safety, and growth teams. We have eleven open roles today and expect to reach 45 full-time employees by end of 2025. We are specifically prioritizing hires in trust and safety, where the work of protecting our community is never finished.
A Word on What Mustartlove Is Building
I want to take a moment to be clear about our philosophy, because it shapes every product decision we make.
Mustartlove is not just a dating app. We are a social platform for people who believe that the best relationships, romantic or otherwise, begin with genuine shared experience. When you join a hiking community on Mustartlove, you are not just setting a filter preference. You are entering a space where you will complete weekly trail challenges alongside other members, share post-hike photos, and gradually build familiarity with people before ever considering whether you want to message them privately.
This community-first architecture produces what we call organic connection latency — the delay between when two people first encounter each other and when romantic interest develops. In traditional dating apps, that latency is zero. Swipe, match, message. On Mustartlove, two people might participate in the same cooking community for three weeks before one of them realizes they have been looking forward to seeing the other’s weekly recipe posts. That gradual familiarity produces higher quality connections and dramatically better outcomes.
Our internal data confirms this. Users who connect through community activity before initiating direct messages have conversation response rates 4.2 times higher than users who message cold. They report 67 percent higher match satisfaction scores. They stay on the platform longer after a successful match, often converting from romantic users to community contributors who help seed the next wave of organic connections.
The Road Ahead
We believe we are building one of the most important social platforms of this decade. Not because dating is a big market (though it is — over $9 billion annually in the US alone), but because loneliness is one of the defining challenges of our time. The US Surgeon General declared loneliness a public health epidemic in 2023. Technology has a role to play in solving it, but only if it is designed with intention, empathy, and a genuine commitment to user wellbeing over engagement metrics.
